What's In A Name? The Story Behind Luvons
When starting a business, one of the biggest challenges is choosing the perfect name—one that captures the essence of the brand while also being unique and memorable. For me, the name Luvons is deeply personal, inspired by my children, Luke and Devon.
How Luvons Began
The idea for Luvons was born when my kids were babies, crawling around the house. Like many parents, I wanted to keep my floors clean and safe, especially because a stray Cheerio on the floor was all too tempting for a little one. We made our home a shoe-free space, but I couldn’t find slippers that were both stylish and comfortable for daily use. Everything on the market was either too frumpy, clunky, or lacked proper support.
Another key frustration? Most slippers weren’t washable. As any parent knows, life is messy—spills, accidents, and daily wear take their toll. I wanted slippers that could be machine-washed without losing their shape or comfort.
From Idea to Reality
Fast forward to when my kids went off to college—that’s when I finally took the leap to launch Luvons. Finding the right name was one of the biggest hurdles. After brainstorming different options, I came back to the heart of it all: creating stylish, comfortable, and washable slippers for daily use that made it easier to maintain a clean home for Luke and Devon. That’s how Luvons (at myLuvons.com) was officially born.
A Year of Growth and Gratitude
Now, a year into this journey, I’ve learned, grown, and worked harder than I ever imagined. But the most rewarding part? Hearing from our amazing customers. It’s incredibly fulfilling to know that so many women have finally found slippers that offer both comfort and style—and are polished enough to wear when guests stop by. No more ditching your slippers before answering the door!
As for my kids? Luke recently graduated and is working in aerospace, while Devon is studying fashion design. Who knows—maybe one day she’ll join the family business.
